The project proposed by our team at the Venice Biennale in 2014 with the theme'' Absorbing Modernity, architecture in the past 100 years in Romania'', focuses on three time periods: interwar, communism and post communism.

The concept is to create a space that conveys a mood, an emotion. We put emphasis on sincere and convincing architecture, the one thing that can not only be read, but experienced, understood and digested in a long arc of time. The political and social dimensions shape and support the message in an integrated way.

The proposed installation for the Romanian Pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale consists of "empty"rooms and yet full of content. Through shape, colour, material, sound and light we aim to render an atmosphere specific to each period of time. One can visit the installation from left to right, beginning with the interwar period and ending with post-communism and the reflection room.

At the end of their tour, visitors have the possibility to make their own choice and open the door of the future or go back and repeat the mistakes of the past.

Proiectul propus de echipa noastră pentru Bienala de la Veneția 2014 cu tema ''Absorbing Modernity , arhitectura în ultimii 100 de ani în Romania'', pune accent pe trei perioade de timp : interbelic, comunism și post comunism.

Conceptul proiectului este crearea unui spatiu care transmite o stare, o emotie. Am pus accent pe arhitectura sinceră, convingătoare, pe un lucru care nu poate fi doar citit, ci trăit, înțeles și digerat într-un arc de timp. Dimensiunea politică și cea socială conturează și susține mesajul într-un mod integrat. Instalația propusă pentru pavilionul României din Giardini della Biennale este formată din camere “goale” și totuși pline de conținut. Prin formă, culoare, material, sunet și lumină ne propunem să redăm atmosfera specifică fiecărei perioade în parte. Vizitarea instalației se face de la stânga spre dreapta, începând cu perioada interbelică și terminându-se cu post-comunism și camera de reflecție. La sfarsitul turului, vizitatorii au posibilitatea sa aleaga calea spre viitor sau sa repete greselile trecutului.
